Windsor's Little Fingers Montessori Nursery School has been rated 'outstanding' by Government inspectors.

Proud headteacher Suzanne Shaw, 48, runs the school in Vansittart Road with business partner Lesley Creedon.

Ofsted inspectors who visited in October found the school outstanding in all four major departments - leadership and management, teaching, behaviour and welfare of the children plus the outcomes for the children.

It particularly praised the pupils' self help skills and the interaction they enjoyed with the teachers.

It also said the children showed consideration for each other and knew how to show affection.

The last inspectors two and a half years ago rated the school 'good'.

Mrs Shaw, who has run the school for 21 years, said of the inspection result: "It is fantastic news.

"We feel as a team that we support each child's ability at each stage of their development.

"Achieving these outstanding inspection grades highlights that the years we have all put into education have been worth it.

"The children are fantastic. That is why I stay in education.

"My team is amazing. I think we have the same values, the ethos about believing each child reaches their full potential.

"These are the building blocks of life and and if you don't get them right then it has repercussions later on."

"Past parents call the school the hidden gem."
