A 38-year-old man who grabbed a 12-year-old girl’s ankles as she was getting changed at Windsor Leisure Centre has been given a suspended jail sentence.

Mohammed Rizwan Anwar, 38, of Concorde Way, Slough was found guilty at Reading Magistrates Court on Tuesday, September 26 of two charges of sexual assault.

Last Thursday, November 16, District Judge Davinder Lachhar imposed a nine month prison sentence suspended for two years.

The court heard statements from both victims saying how the incident had affected them.

The judge also banned Anwar from returning to Windsor Leisure Centre or visiting Maidenhead’s Magnet Leisure Centre.

The events that led to Anwar’s arrest happened on April 9 between 2pm and 3pm. He was at Windsor Leisure Centre in Stovell Road when he grabbed the ankles of the 12-year-old girl while she was in a cubicle getting changed.

Three days later on April 12 at the same time, he attempted to grab the ankles of a 16-year-old girl who was changing in a cubicle in front of him.

He was charged with both offences on April 13.

Following the court appearance, PC Rupinder Gill said: “The fact that he has been found guilty of these two offences is an excellent result.

“We will continue to work to ensure offenders are brought to justice.”
