UNEMPLOYMENT continues to go down steadily across the area.
Sixty fewer people are claiming Job Seeker’s Allowance (JSA) since October 2016 in Slough, a five per cent reduction.
It means now that only 1,180 are on JSA in the constituency, figures from the Department for Work and Pensions show.
For people between the ages of 18 and 24, 20 are now back in work from the 60. Overall 1,811 people have returned to work in Slough since 2010.
In Windsor and Maidenhead 30 fewer people are now claiming JSA compared to October last year, a four per cent reduction. From the 30, only five were between the ages of 18 and 24. However across the authority area, only 95 people who are aged 18 to 24 are claiming JSA, with 705 claimants overall. Since 2010, 951 people have returned to work in Windsor and Maidenhead.
