The Royal Albert Institute Trust has revealed the organisations it has given grants to this year.

They are Windsor Parish Church, Eton Wick Church of England First School, Churches Together in Windsor, Windsor and Eton District Scout Association, All Saints Church, Frances Road, plus Windsor and St Edward and St Mark Catholic Church, Windsor.

The Royal Albert Institute was set up in 1867 and its premises at Sheet Street housed lectures and other cultural events until its sale in 1968 - the money raised being used ever since to make grants to cultural causes.

At the last meeting Linda Aitken was welcomed as a new trustee, replacing the late Joyce Sampson and restoring numbers to nine.

Any organisation or individual with a cultural agenda who would like to apply for a grant can contact the trustees' clerk John Handcock at Red Deer House, Kingswood Rise, Englefield Green TW 20 ONG
