FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a kitchen fire, after a homeowner left the house with food cooking on the stove.
Two fire engines from Maidenhead Fire Station were called at 1pm today (Friday) to a fire at a property on Courtfield Drive, Maidenhead.
The homeowner had left the property whilst leaving food cooking, and there was nobody else inside the house.
The fire was easily extinguished, but a spokesman for Maidenhead Fire Station warned it could have had the potential to spread had neighbours not summoned the fire service promptly. There was some smoke damage to the interior of the house.
The spokesman reminded homeowners to not leave cooking unattended, and to ensure that all cooking appliances are switched off before leaving the house.
Firefighters were on the scene for an hour and a half.
