A decision over whether or not to give planning permission for a new 150 bedroom hotel at Windsor Racecourse has been delayed.

Planning councillors on the Royal Borough were due to discuss last night whether or not to allow a plan by Arena - owners of Windsor Racecourse - to build the hotel on the site of the Silver Ring, which would be demolished to make way for it.

Royal Borough planning officers were recommending that the application be refused and councillors were due to debate whether or not to accept that recommendation.

But at the last minute the officers withdrew their report.

It is not clear at this stage whether they might reverse their recommendation. But it is understood they are looking again at concerns they had about a potential flooding risk if the hotel was built.
