Our round-up of cases heard in Berkshire magistrate's courts from August 12 to 16. 

Michael James Chambers, 34, of Luff Close, Windsor, was ordered to pay £100 in compensation for beating another man. Additionally, he was placed under a community order for stealing £25 worth of goods from Tesco, in which he must attend regular appointments with a police officer. He was made to pay £85 in costs, and a £85 victim surcharge.

Stephen James Ball, 32, of High Street, Slough, was fined £100 for having a quaintly of cannabis and cannabis resin in his possession. He is currently awaiting trial for a number of other offences.

Lyndon Craig Rance, 50, of Northumbria Road, Maidenhead, was sentenced to four months in prison for driving a vehicle while disqualified from driving, and without insurance. The length of his disqualification was extended by two months.

Mark Smith, 32, of Warrington Avenue, Slough, was fined £300 for driving while under the influence of cocaine. He was additionally disqualified from driving for 12 months, and made to pay a victim surcharge of £30, and costs of £85.

David Ian Andrews, 59, of Sawyers Crescent, Maidenhead, was fined £290 for drink-driving. He was additionally disqualified from driving for 36 months, and made to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £30.

Matthew Burchell, 32, of The Pound, Maidenhead, was ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work for refusing to provide a breath sample to officers who had suspected he had been driving a vehicle. He was also disqualified from driving for 18 months, and made to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £85.

Rahim Hassanali, 19, of Hawthorne Crescent, Slough, was fined £80 for possession of cannabis. He was made to pay costs of £42 and a victim surcharge of £30. He was arrested alongside Mark Peter Mgenge, 18, of Borderside, Slough, who was also found with cannabis in his possession. He was fined £120 and made to pay costs of £42 and a victim surcharge of £30.

Kamram Iqbal, 21, of Hampshire Avenue, Slough, was fined £400 for drink-driving, and was disqualified from driving for 12 months. He was additionally made to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £40. Billy Price, 18, of Frogmore Court, Maidenhead, was fined £170 for possession of the class B drug Amphetamine. He was also fined an additional £170 due to the fact that he was on a conditional discharge for a previous case of assaulting another man, as well as costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £30.

Susan Ann Scott, 51, of Lower Cippenham Lane, Slough, was fined £600 for fraud by false representation. She wrongly claimed she was authorised to write cheques on behalf on another person, and attempted to steal £800 from them in this way. She was additionally placed on a conditional discharge for two years, and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £20.
