A FAULTY tumble drier lead to a small house fire on Blenheim Road, Maidenhead.
Two fire engines from Maidenhead Fire Station were called out at 2pm today to extinguish the fire. Due to the swift response, the fire did not spread very far, and there was only smoke damage to the rest of the house.
There were no injuries, as nobody was in the house at the time.
Firefighters were on the scene for an hour and a half as they ensured the fire was extinguished and the house was safe.
A spokesman for Maidenhead Fire Station said: "We'd like to remind everyone to make sure that their fire alarms are tested and functional. When we entered the building, none of the fire alarms were working.
"We'd also like to ask that people do not leave driers on in empty homes, and always close interior doors as a precaution."
