A PERFORMER at Legoland Windsor has been injured following a stunt that went wrong.

The incident occurred during a 'Pirates of Skeleton Bay' performance.

The acrobatics demonstration required the performer to swing into the air from a metal frame, and grab a metal pole in order to return safely to the swing.

However, the acrobat appeared to miss the pole, colliding with it and falling to the ground, after being tossed several meters into the air.

A Thames Valley air ambulance was called out to the scene, and the man was taken to Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital for treatment. The accident happened approximately at 1.24pm on Wednesday, July 26.

Legoland said in a statement: “Our first responders attended immediately and the performer was taken to hospital.

“We are in touch with his family, and understand that he is recovering well.

“The show remains closed until further notice whilst an investigation takes place.”
