RUSH hour traffic was plunged into chaos on Thursday morning, after an incident on the Windsor - Slough relief road.

Queues tailed back from the River Thames bridge, nearly two miles back to the Windsor road roundabout, as commuters faced long delays.

The incident occurred shortly before 8am. The police were called out and blocked off the road before allowing a single lane to be re-opened, during peak-time traffic.

One motorist, Tom Paulson, said: "It was chaotic. I was stuck in traffic on my way to work for over half an hour".
