A new sporting initiative aimed at getting children away from their computer screens has added tennis and golf to its existing range.

Sports4Kids (S4K) also offers Sunday sessions in football, dance and rugby.

It operates in London, Berkshire and Surrey, concentrating on teaching children aged 18 months to 11-years-old the technical skills that will help them excel in their chosen activity.

Director and co-founder Doctor Mark Gould said: "It's noticeable that obesity rates start at the age of five in the UK.

"We are of the belief that encouraging children to exercise early is crucial. There's no reason why children shouldn't start as early as 18 months, as it's a habit that will continue as they grow older."

Sunday sessions are now held at St John's Beaumont School, Old Windsor with tennis and golf now added to football and dance; The Windsor Boys School in Maidenhead Road (football); East Berkshire College, Langley (football and dance), Upton Grammar School (rugby) and Cox Green Leisure Centre (football).

The sessions are spread throughout the morning with the age ranges separated into four groups operating at different times.

Interested parents can book a free taster session on https://sport4kids.biz/ They can then sign up for a month at £32.50.
