HALLOWEEN fever hit last week and there were plenty of events to celebrate the spooky occasion.

Battersea dogs and cats home in Old Windsor joined in the fun with its scaredy cat day on Thursday.

The home's resident felines were the main attraction last week and visitors were invited to take part in creepy crafts, cat mask-making and freaky face painting.

In Maidenhead, the Halloween fun continued at the Claires Court holiday club.

Children aged between three and 13 dressed up in their best costumes during the club's Spooktacular event last week.

Rachel Sellman, manager of the holiday club, said: "It was great fun, they were all bouncing around.

"I think that was one of the best parts of the week."

Throughout the week the children took part in various Halloween themed activities, including a pumpkin hunt and pumpkin carving.

On Thursday, around 70 children dug out their best fancy dress outfits to play party games, take part in craft activities and take lots of snaps in a photo booth.

Families in Slough didn't miss out on the Halloween activities either as Chalvey Community Centre hosted a Halloween fun day organised by Art Your Heart Out.

Children and their parents, gathered at the centre in The Green for crafts, apple bobbing, face painting, fancy dress and to make their own trick and treat bags.
