SHOPPERS in Slough learnt how to spot the signs and symptoms of breast cancer this week.

While touring England, the breast cancer roadshow, funded by Breast Cancer Care and The Football Association, stopped outside the Observatory Shopping Centre on Monday and Tuesday.

Manveet Barar, roadshow manager, said: "A lot of people don't know what to look for and most people still think that a lump is the only sign.

"They end up ignoring the signs and going to their GP too late but there's a much better chance of survival if it's picked up earlier.

"Also most men don't know they can get breast cancer and this is another way of engaging with men."

Staff and volunteers from Breast Cancer Care boarded the bus emblazoned with the charity's logo to urge the people of Slough to check their breasts regularly for any unusual changes.

From the bus, visitors could pick up breast health information and get advice from the charity's team and on the first day, the team spoke to 331 people in Slough.

The roadshow is running up until April 2016 and the team have seen more than 9,000 people since the tour started last month.
