A TEAM of schoolfriends have taken on the Windsor Half Marathon in memory of a ‘wonderful son, brother and friend’ who was killed in a stabbing attack.

Fiona Noctor, sister of Seán Noctor who died in July 2013, ran the half marathon on Sunday with nine friends, all former pupils at St Bernard’s Grammar School, in Langley, which Seán also attended.

Team Noctorious were running to raise money for http://knifecrimes.org, which works to prevent knife crime and supports those families affected by such crimes.

The team Noctorious have smashed their fundraising target of £1,000, storming past £2,500 this week, all in memory of Seán who was 24 when he died.

Miss Noctor, an events co-ordinator from Windsor, said: “There was so much support. We all had a picture of Sean on the back of our tops and a lot of people recognised his face so they cheered for us, encouraged us and told us to keep going.

"It really did help us and was quite emotional actually, but obviously thank you to those people who did cheer us on.

“It was the first time we had done anything like it - the idea came from Martha Keogh [who was part of the team] as she suggested we do something to raise money for the charity.

“We were talking about doing the three peaks challenge next year or something similar just to continue fundraising.”

The complete team was Fiona Noctor, Elizabeth Delaloye, Martha Keogh, Rachael Healy, Amy Goff, Kate Welsh, Lucy Minshall-Pearson, Melissa Hickey, Shannon Kissane, Gabriella Brugognone and all 10 successfully completed the half marathon.
