THREE Townswomen’s Guild Federations joined to host a Picnic In The Park while raising money for charity.
Berkshire, Chiltern and Castle and Hampshire North Townswomen’s Guilds held the 200-person event at St Bernard’s Catholic School in Langley on Tuesday, August 11.
There were 15 different Townwomen’s Guilds, all with their own stalls, offering all sorts from home-made cakes to hand-made cards, with the Windsor Dedworth Manor stall managing to raise raising £80 for Action on Hearing Loss - their chosen charity this year.Four car-loads-worth of household tools were also donated for the charity Tools For Self Reliance throughout the day. The bi-annual event was attended by mayor of Slough cllr Mohammed Rasib and Margaret Key, national chairman for Townswomen’s Guilds and included a hat competition, a treasure hunt and games.
Jenny Samuel, Windsor Dedworth Manor Townswomen’s Guild press officer, said: “We were having a picnic, a nice chat and playing games. We always enjoy ourselves when we’re making money for charity.”
