A MAN facing four charges of fraud and theft at sports clubs has pleaded guilty - but is disputing the amount of money involved.
Grant Farrell, 51, of Clarence Road, Windsor, pleaded guilty at Reading Crown Court on Monday last week to one charge of theft relating to Slough Junior Athletics Club between 2007 and 2011, but formerly challenged the amount the prosecution claims was taken.
The one charge was condensed down from an initial five at the hearing.
He also pleaded guilty to three charges of fraud relating to Windsor Swimming Club between 2010 and 2012, but again is also disputing the amount of money claimed by prosecutors.
A charge of false accounting is to be left on file, after he indicated a not guilty plea.
The case was adjourned to September 25, for a 'Newton hearing’. Farrell was initially charged in May last year.
