The 19-year-old will be joined by hundreds of athletes from around the world set to take part in the games at Stoke Mandeville Stadium which starts tomorrow (Monday) until Thursday.

And Bouron, already ranked No.2 in Great Britain, has her sights set on the top prize.

She said: “My future ambitions are to carry on being selected and representing Great Britain and to carry on improving as a player.

“My ultimate goal is to represent Great Britain at the Paralympic Games and to win a gold medal.” The World Junior Games will take place at Stoke Mandeville, the birthplace of the Paralympic movement.

A total of 300 athletes from 32 countries will compete in six sports: archery, athletics, powerlifting, swimming, table tennis and wheelchair fencing. Para taekwondo will be a demonstration sport.

Bouron was part of the GB team announced earlier in the week, having found a talent for sport through WheelPower’s Junior Sports Camp. She enjoyed wheelchair racing and wheelchair basketball before focusing on table tennis.

A number of paralympic athletes who competed in the Commonwealth Games will also be in action in the IWAS World Junior Games.
