Great character shown from Eton Wick

ETON Wick showed great character to bounce back from an opening day defeat to beat South Kilburn 2-0 on Saturday in the Hellenic League Division One East.
On Wednesday, August 13, Eton Wick kicked off their camapign with a 3-1 loss at home to Prestwood despite creating a whole host of chances.
After Lee Nevard, Stu Clapson, Simon Howard and Martin Bickley all wasted good chances, Wick found themselves three down before a Howard free-kick was fumbled into his own goal by the visiting keeper for a consolation.
However, they put that behind them to chalk up three points against Kilburn with Nevard firing them into a first half lead before a decisive second was volleyed home by Sam Handley from Liam Nash’s free-kick.
In between the goals, Eton Wick keeper, Mark Appleby impressed with an excellent save for a well deserved clean sheet.
