Live - Windsor and Eton 1-0 Abingdon United

Comment Bubble Comments (2) Printer Print Article

Full time: Windsor win 1-0 thanks to a Ben Porter goal midway through the second half.

92 mins) However, the danger is seen off and the game ends with Gumbs firing across the box.

91 mins) Abingdon on the attack and in a dangerous position.

89 mins) For once Ramos claims a cross rather than punching and it relieves the pressure and sends Windsor on the offensive.

86 mins) A cross from parsons is only just beyond the outstretched leg of Seedel who was slidding in.

85 mins) Going into the finale the match is still in the balance.

82 mins) Sub: Jake Parsons is on for Terry O'Connor for the Royalists.

81 mins) Seedel and Gumbs linked up well but Seedel could not quite get his shot away as he was denied by a fine challenge from Woodley.

79 mins) Sub: Abingdon make their third change with Tom Austin coming on for Ryan Curtin.

77 mins) The game has become a lot more stretched now with the visitors in search of an equaliser which they were denied by the offside flag.

74 mins) Sub: Mark James on for Jordan Parker for Abingdon.

70 mins) Windsor somehow survive as Ramos saves brilliantly from Odhiambo's free header from five yards out, flinging himself to his left and then somehow getting up quickly to flick the ball away from danger when a tap in by Beechers seemed inevitable.

68 mins) Sub: Billy Beechers on for Luke Holden for United.

67 mins) A header from Nathan Woodley is kept out by Ramos and Windsor break quickly but Gumbs' rasping drive that was bound for the top corner is well tipped over.

65 mins) A cross from O'Connor is glanced wide of the far post by Porter.

63 mins) Sub: Jermaine Gumbs on for Chandiram for the hosts.

GOAL 61 mins) Porter raced clear of the defence and broke the deadlock by rounding the keeper and slotting home.

59 mins) Keith Scott is growing increasingly frustrated in his technical area as Windsor are being held up by the opposition, their lack of cutting edge and the officials.

54 mins) Excellent work from Abdrew Fagan bombing on resulted in a corner after his cross was brilliantly defended at the near post with Porter going in.

51 mins) Infact it is the visitors who have come out sharper after the break and it was certainly them who went closest until an opportunist strike from Porter flew just wide from 20 yards.

47 mins) After a cross was deflected just wide, Abingdon went close again when Ramos was down sharply to block a near post header.

Keith Scott gave his troops a few words at half time and kept them in for a long time but they are back out now and fired up.

Half time: Abingdon have come for a point and if Windsor play like they have in the first half, they will easily get one.

41 mins) The home side were denied a penalty when Porter was out muscled in the box and went down but the referee ignored the protests and waved play on.

39 mins) The referee obstructed Simon Goodrham from nipping in but it did not matter as Abingdon have carried little threat themselves and the move broke down.

34 mins) Terry O'Connor did well down the right to beat his man but horribly over-hit the cross as another promising position turns to nothing for the hosts who are lacking a cutting edge without Michael Chennels.

31 mins) With Windsor appealing for offside, Ryan Curtin got free but Chico Ramos was out in a flash to block with his body right on the edge of his box.

29 mins) Windsor gave the ball away in the middle again but Dave Tilbury did well to snuff out the threat on the break.

25 mins) The Royals came close when a cross from Chandiram nicked off a defender, went wide of the upright but just avaded the people coming in at the far post.

21 mins) The Royalists have had a number of good opportunities from set pieces but so far the delivery has been poor and Abingdon have not been punished.

17 mins) Matt Seedel took too long to get his shot away after a cross from the left found him in space 16 yards out.

16 mins) Some good football involving Ben Porter, Bruce Wilson and Chandiram typified the game so far as it ended with a poor cross from the latter.

14 mins) The home side have dominated so far but not created a clear cut opening.

10 mins) The ball fell kindly for Chandiram but he shot wildly high and wide.

8 mins) Windsor having a lot more of the ball in the early stages as Abingdon are happy to just sit back with one up front when they haven't got possession.

4 mins) After a positive start by the hosts they nearly shot themselves in the foot when a heavy touch from Butler at the back resulted in the forward nipping in, however, the danger was averted.

1 min) Windsor win an early corner and Joe Chandiram's low delivery is met by Steve Butler but his first time effort is blocked.

This is great. As a windsor fan living in Liverpool (My flag is the Merseyside Royalist one ) I can now follow this service instead of running up my mobile bill!! Is this going to run all season and is it away games as well as home ones or just games at Stag Meadow ?

Regards

Dave
