Celeb chef set to make guest appearance in Windsor
By Inderdeep Bains
A CELEBRITY chef will be among the regular customers enjoying the taste and flavours at Windsor Farmers’ Market tomorrow on Saturday (06/09).
Patron of Thames Valley Farmers’ Market Co-operative and local restaurateur Antony Worrall Thompson will be making a guest appearance at the market in St Leonard’s Road to award a £50 voucher for his shop the Windsor Larder, to the winning ticket holder in a draw.
He said: “September is a brilliant month for food, especially root crops which are just coming into season. The early sweet carrots and beetroots are not only colourful, but so tasty in salads, and lightly steamed go well with Sunday roasts.
“These days everyone is cooking on a tighter budget, and I’m always impressed by the quality and variety of rare breed and free range meat available at the market. The cheaper cuts give great flavours in casseroles and stews.”
More than 20 stalls will line up in St Leonard’s Road, between Trinity Yard and
Grove Road, and the market opens at 9am. The prize draw will be held at 11am.
Thames Valley Farmers’ Market Co-operative has run the monthly Windsor Farmers’ Market in St Leonard’s Road for more than three years. The market was initiated with support from the Windsor and Eton Town Partnership Board and has helped to revitalise this area of Windsor town centre.
